Quick answer

JustPlay is a loyalty program for Gimica's own casual games and lets you redeem to PayPal or gift cards every 3 hours, but its recent reviews complain about ads and low pay. Mistplay rewards play across many publishers' games for gift cards, and its complaints focus on missing points, slow gift cards and support. Choose JustPlay for quick small payouts, Mistplay for variety.

JustPlay vs Mistplay is really a choice between two kinds of app. JustPlay is a loyalty program for one game studio, Gimica, so you play its own casual games and can redeem to PayPal or gift cards every 3 hours. Mistplay rewards you for playing many different games from other companies and pays in gift cards from its shop. JustPlay is better for quick, regular small payouts. Mistplay is better if you want variety.

We run Vazpop, a rewards site, and we're not affiliated with either app. Facts come from their App Store listings, and the review numbers come from public App Store reviews we counted on 12 October 2026.

The key difference: whose games you play

This matters more than anything else on this page.

  • JustPlay describes itself as "the exclusive loyalty program for Gimica Games enthusiasts" in its App Store listing. You earn loyalty points by finishing levels and achievements in Gimica's own casual games (reviewers mostly mention solitaire and block puzzles). Those games show ads, and ad money is a big part of what funds the rewards.
  • Mistplay works with many outside game publishers. You install games through it and earn points for your progress and time, plus tournaments, surveys and quizzes, per its App Store listing.

So if you like simple casual games and don't mind ads, JustPlay is a natural fit. If you want to try new games of every kind, only Mistplay gives you that.

What recent reviews say about each

We pulled the 500 most recent written reviews for each app from the US App Store. JustPlay gets so many that its 500 covered less than a month (18 September to 11 October 2026). Mistplay's went back to mid-August. Among the 1 and 2 star reviews:

ComplaintJustPlayMistplay
Too many ads34%9%
Cashing out or redeeming31%35%
Pay too low for the time27%6%
Support not answering12%28%
Account suspended or lockedAlmost none9%

The patterns are clear:

  • JustPlay's complaints are about the deal. Ads between levels, small amounts for the time spent, and confusing coin values. Tournaments came up in 13% of its bad reviews, mostly people disappointed with the prize after placing well. Some also mention a face scan before cashing out.
  • Mistplay's complaints are about getting the reward. Points missing after a milestone, gift cards taking days, accounts locked, and support slow to reply.

In other words, JustPlay is fairly upfront: you know what you'll get, and some people decide it isn't enough. With Mistplay, the earning feels better but more people hit a problem at the redeem step. We saw the same split across all eight apps in our study of 4,000 reward app reviews.

Is JustPlay legit?

Yes. It's run by a real game studio, it pays to PayPal and gift cards, and its recent 4 and 5 star reviews include more mentions of actual payouts than any other app we studied (22% of positive reviews). The honest catch is the amounts. You're paid a share of what your play earns in ads, so an hour of solitaire tends to be worth cents, not dollars.

A word on JustPlay tournaments

Tournaments advertise big prize pools, and that's where many of the angriest reviews come from. Players describe hours of play for a first-place prize of under a dollar. The pool is shared among many players and many rounds, so treat tournaments as a small bonus on top of normal play, not a reason to grind.

Which should you choose?

  • You play solitaire or puzzles anyway: JustPlay. You'd be playing those games regardless.
  • You hate ads: Mistplay, or neither. Ads are part of the JustPlay deal.
  • You want PayPal cash often: JustPlay, with redemptions every 3 hours.
  • You want to discover new games: Mistplay.
  • You're on Android: Mistplay's Android app is its original and longer-running version.

Using both is fine, since they don't overlap. JustPlay fills five-minute gaps, and Mistplay works for longer sessions. Whichever you use, cash out the first small amount early to make sure redeeming works for you, and never use a VPN.

Getting more out of either app

  1. Redeem early once. On JustPlay, take the first small payout as soon as it's available. On Mistplay, buy the cheapest gift card first. It proves the redeem step works for your account.
  2. Stay inside the app while you play. JustPlay reviewers describe losing a pending reward after leaving the app at the wrong moment, and Mistplay only counts play it can see.
  3. Keep screenshots of milestones on Mistplay, so a support ticket about missing points has proof attached.

If you want more for your playing time

Both apps pay mostly for time and casual progress. If you're willing to push a game to a set level by a deadline, game offers usually pay more per hour. Compare Cash Giraffe vs Mistplay, look through sites like Freecash, or read our guide to making money playing games on your phone. On Vazpop, game offers show the reward in dollars and the hold as a countdown before you start.
